Our last day in Belgium was spent driving South into France, it was a personal pilgrimage this time but one that took us passed a couple of landmarks that we wanted to see. The first was Vimy Ridge in the Arras region of Northern France.
This memorial was huge in size, but also in its impact on the hills, and what it symbolises. Every wall, every figure, and every small detail represents something and that is what blew me away.
As normal, these were shot on the Pentax SP500 with Ilford Delta 100 film. I also decided to use an orange filter to pull in the cloud detail and the detail in this very bright stonework. I was very happy with the results.
