Today I dropped my Zenit-E as I was fishing for my jacket out in the boot of the car. It hit my knee on the way down causing unspeakable pain - damn Soviet camera - but once I could speak I noticed the damaged caused. The lip of the lens is dented which causes the aperture ring to become tight when turning. It works perfectly but it is still upsetting for a few reasons: the camera is in excellent condition so I can only be glad the lens took the brunt, but this was also my Grandad’s camera and the sentimentality is high. I wonder if it is too high when stuff like this happens though. Do I put this away and buy another camera or try and be more careful? Accidents happen though.
